Swapped 1.1mm needle jet for 0.93 and left needle on lowest setting. Also dropped anti ethanol metal droplets into the tank. Topped up tank with Silkolene additive included unleaded. Having thus taken no prisoners set off for a ride. Initially was disappointed with usual weak performance and then, all of a sudden, Siegfried started to gallop ! Woohoo. Dunno why but he seemed to clear and pull as I would expect a 250cc 4 stroke single to do. Plug check showed terminals going a deep brown. Not quite the digestive biscuit brown I am looking for but the first time ever not pitch black and sooty. Also fixed the battery box lid lock so that no longer opens when locked as you ride along. Also fixed the tail light. Wondered why the light segment was spongy to the touch and glowed orange. Some twerp had fitted it in place with nasty gasket goo and fitted a clear bulb. Drop of superglue and a red bulb later and we were back in business. Also the reflector span around loosely. This had been bodged into place by bending it out all around the perimeter. Superglue to the rescue again. Now that's better.
