Enter Sabine the Beemer
It's been a while since I sold Ethel the Beemer, something I came to regret.
In the meantime I built up a collection of Simson and AWO motorcycles but found that they were not getting ridden.
So all but one have been repatriated to new owners where they belong back in the former East Germany.
I glanced through ads for a K75 and this beauty came up. Bought straightaway.
Now she is here. Just a checkover needed and then we can start to enjoy life together.
Welcome Sabine the Beener

Cylinder head back on
Now that really is a difference. Kicking the motor over now needs a hefty swing to turn it over. Before there was no resistance at all. Now its reluctant to go past TDC without a hefty kick. Looking good.

Other side of cylinder insert sleeve
No isea where all that metal went. What with this and the state of the piston it is a wonder that Siegfried ran at all.
Simson mice
Look at the base of the liner surround. This is under the carb so mystery oil on fins there can only have come from here.
