First chance today for a serious shakedown run.
13C dry strong winds.
Everything from 140kmh cruising to country lanes and through towns.
Surprised upon running down to 30 limit to hear loud gunshot like backfires ! Most unladylike.
After the fuel light came on filled up with BP Super 97 Octane E10.
Motor immediately sounded different, deeper tone, and more responsive.
Tried to provoke backfire but none came.
For unknown reasons the clutch lever, just like Ethel's, has a much wider non adjustable span and wider angle than the brake lever. Unless you have hands like shovels this provokes sharp tendonitis pains in the left wrist after a while.
I bent Ethel's backwards by means of a wooden block against the bars a clouting the end of the lever with a big rubber mallet.
This time I'll apply heat then the wooden block and bend the lever with a big steel pipe.
Tyres heated up nicely and worked great. No signs of any defects so will run them until the next MOT in March and see what that may require

Sabine first run out
A beautiful day today so first run out on Sabine. Beautiful. Wonderful to see 34000 miles come up. Smoked heavily for first couple of miles but these do when they have stood forca while. Soon cleared and straight up to 140 k on dual carriageway. Its like I've never been away I know these bikes so well

Sabine Tyres
Checked the Michelin tyres on Sabine today. Mmmmm. Both over 6 1/2 years old.
So, when the roads stop being wet and greasy, will go for the usual 30 mile test run circuit to see if all is well then take the wheels out to replace with the old faithful Conti Go tyres.
In all the miles I did on Ethel these were far and away the best tyres for the K75. Gripped as well in the wet as in the dry and do not white line.
