Streetfighter for the Manx GP
With the IOM VMCC decision that the 25 year rule still applies for Jurby, still no idea how that Ducati 916 gets on track each year, I plan to give Jurby with Ethel a miss this year and go on the Streetfighter. Of course if it goes BANG then Ethel can haughtily smirk and say told you so. The Streetfighter should be the quick, lightweight bike I have been thinking of for a while. Comfy riding position and certainly the only Streetfighter that will have an Airhawk seat.I'm taking the 0200 ferry from Heysham, again just for a change, plus missing mid week daytime heavy traffic. No idea if the bug eye lights will be much use but I won't be in a hurry. The people I am staying with kindly mailed a map with everything except an X to mark where they are ! No matter I've got all day to find them.

This too is now working and rusty old one in the bin. Spaghetti wiring also trimmed out and tidied up.

Love those new drag bars
Final position not yet settled until rebuild complete as twistgrip requires a locator hole drilled in the bars.

Endless little jobs getting done
Here's the new horn. Previously a muffled farting sound came from under the tank. Someone had drilled and left open holes in the airbox to mount the old horn and then faced its outlet flush with the frame beam. Holes are now blanked off to give the airbox a chance to work and horn is now plenty loud.

Front wheel
Bit trickier to strip. This what powder coating turns into - it comes off like very thin balloon rubber. Very slow to do but strangely satisfying.
